right, after i well and truly killed the trampdrift carlton, was time to find something kind of practical, whilst still keeping a smile on my face.... so i got this.... and ended up in profit! long story! lol MK2 Golf 1.8 8v Driver ENGINE: 186k (just bedded in! lol) Full top end rebuild 2k ago GTI manifold Full stainless exhaust Weber Carb 10mm quad core HT leads Bosch super 4 plugs K&N panel filter EXTERIOR: Semi Rare Montana Green 15" OZ Polaris alloys - Temp wheels until i have enough spare cash for a nice dishy set Lowered 80mm at front, 60mm at rear (sits Level) De-badged single light grille Crystal clear headlamps with Xenon bulbs Half smoked rear clusters Green side repeaters and bumper indicators...
Re: Hey folks :D Ok so here it is. I took these about 4 days after buying the car so it is pre-valet and pre-gunked engine. Note the red Honda badge. It doesn't look like the original has been swapped but there aren't any TypeR Accords this early so I guess it must have been. Ignore the red circle, I was highlighting areas for attention to remind myself. This is a rust spot *shakes fist* If you are familiar with 5th gens you'll notice I ripped the number plate mounting off. The plate looks a lot more flush with the bumper now. Note the fake TypeR stickers. Another painful reminder of the car's history and how it was treated. The bump strips will be removed and am thinking about refurbing the honda wheels in white until I can...
Hi guys. As a couple of you may have noticed in a couple of recent posts that I'm now driving a Mk2 ZS180. Even over all the cars I've had, and the £1000's that have been spent over the years improving the handling, this is by far the best car I've ever driven. I know that may sound daft considering it's an MG, but the boffins at Longbridge really knew what they were doing when they made this car. There is so much that MG changed about the chassis etc from the regular Rover 45/Civic MB. Also the little gismo they made for the inlet manifold by far make the 180bhp in standard form feel a lot fast with a standard 0-60 of 7 seconds and for a big car designed over 13 years ago, is pretty impressive for how little power it has. But it's...
P.s. I am not a chav, merely just somebody that is bored with their slow first car I like it personally, am open to criticism / comments P.s. I KNOW I need to get some side trim , I also know I need the bonnet to be sprayed, but it will cost me a fair bit and is not important :) I had just washed the car and realized I had no pictures of it as such
Ok so here we go ford fiesta st start its life off as a normal day to day car then someone bright idea the other halfs to change the hell out of it lol hmmmm!! Good idea or not we find out one day! So this is how this little fez started Plain jane. Then the 8.5mm magneco leads are fitted along with the K&N induction kit and piper cat back and also lowered on eibachs and the front and rear strut braces are put in and the new rs7 put on her and then the mongoose flexi pipe. Upgraded breaks, Greenstuff pads and Bonnet raisers. She went off for some graphics to be done. And then bang engine blew up piston straight through the engine and after being stuck on the M25 with not a happy other half as for once I was not driving lol! we got...
Hi All, Stumbled across the site whilst reading a write up on a V6 Mk1 Astra. Well I also have a Mk1 Astra running a chipped 2.0 16v Turbo (C20LET) and a 6 speed box (F28 ) giving 272BHP. Full custom made leather interior too :) The car had a ground up restoration over the last 18 months (a re shell of my old one) and now looks like this. Hope you like
After a very long period of development my Sierra RS Cosworth is almost ready to rumble. The engine was completed in 2008 & its taken some time to develop the rest of the car. I will trundle it around for 6months or so to sort out any bugs before my next & final Topspeed run towards the end of 2010. 215mph in 1.5miles is the Target & we have about 1000bhp to achieve it. Only 2 road cars have ever cracked 215 in that distance in the UK so its a big ask, so wish me luck. Theres a vid below showing a test run at 900bhp & 187mph in just over 1/2 mile its scary. (Turn the volume up its a must) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hXNzf2kjqc
Right o then guys, starting this thread frsh for the Veccy rather than keep posting in the MG thread :) If you've read the reprevious posts from said MG thread, you'll know that i've gona and got myself a right bargain of beast. So to catch up, i have a 1999 Vectra GSi estate which was MSD build number 1575 which turns out according to the MSD register, that it's one of the last few pre-faclift estates which is cool. And heres the pics from previous post = But we have and update aswell (i can't keep my hands off cars lmao) Fitted my air filter form the 2.6 Sri as I just love the sound, took it for quick spin and hasn't affected the running of the car unlike it did when I fitted one to my old 2.5 Calibra before the...
Hi guys. As i'm sure a few of have read, i have the car booked for some toys and a rolling road setion. Well in the mean time i've been buying up the extra toys that I could without buying them through the tuning company. What I have so far comprises of:- New Samco piping for the Blow off Valve. New Samco cuplink for the Air Intake pipe. New Samco Water hoses. New Samco Braded Fuel lines. A few stickers which include Blitz, HKS Power and the Tuning company I use Xspec. Also and this is the one I can't wait for, is a sheet of sticky back carbon fibre. It's no thicker than a sheet of vinyl, woven like true carbon fibre and becasue I already have a light weight bonnet from Japan, I dont need to worry about just buying a carbon fibre...
its a 1994 2,5 v6 this are pics when i bought it this summer engine already had G cams fitted , then the mods started , bought f28 gearbox mounted with flywheel and clutch from a C20let , mounted headlamps with fog lights mounted sebring back box then there weeks ago- when i bought it engine wasnt in best shape , and when i was maxing it out at 250kmh it started to run like diesel . so it was puled out an totally rebuild ed that was finished yesterday . tomorrow i will drive it back home from a garage and ill post newest pics
So here are some pic's I took when I went out for a drive earlier this evenig. This isn't my car so I won't be doing any work on it allthough I would like to. This isn't the greatest car for tuning but it's reliable and gets me from A to B so it will do untill I can afford something more fun and better for tuning.
Hey chaps been looking through some old photos i dug out from the attic found some right gems. My old mans Triumph 2000 CC car it was his pride and joy was member of the car club and everything he changed the paint from original brown to a metallic blue. Does anyone have any images they remember growin up around a certain car? I used to specifically Remember the car having a Overdrive button on it haha
I thought I would post up pictures of my 1997 Saab 900. So far its mostly stock but I have a good list of mods planned, it keeps changing as time goes on but I think i have finally decided on a few for sure. I have owned this car for nearly a year now, and have taken good care of it, fixing a few things here and there, but now I think its time for the mods. Few Rust spots on the tip of the bonnet, getting fixed with rest of rust. Rust on the rear wheel well on both sides, getting patched and painted within the next month. You can see the rear panel under the passenger light is black instead of the green, thats from when I was rear ended by a jeep and found a replacement part, it will be painted when the rust spots are...
Hi guys. Well thought I'd get a bit of thread together rather than me keep updating my Hello thread. Well as some of you know, I have a lovely JDM Impreza which I bought a couple of months ago and the bug has got me already and things have started to happen already. This is the spec when I bought the car... Here we are then guys. This is the journey to my quick Vectra lol. This is the 2.0 16v Calibra Turbo engine for the Vectra that i bought. Well the new engine is in and just waiting for 1 part which should be here tomorrow. The engine went in no problem and turns over with ease. We just need to sort the coil as the older engine hasn't got electronic ingnition. So here's our journey to the stage I am at, at the mo First things first, ROAD TRIP!!! Couple of shots of the new engine So then it was out with the old... Which left the poor Vectra without it's "Hamster in-a Wheel Power" lol
Well, Unfortunately the Calibra is gone :( But on the flip side, i've now gt a family car I'm very happy with and quite surprised I got the deal to be fair. Payed £700 for the Calibra back in October last year, I've run the tax and MOT out and swapped it for this Vectra which was listed for £1500. Plus I got £200 on top as well which I was really surprised to be offered. But at the end of the day, an enthusiast bought it and he said he'll pay what he thinks it's truly worth. So deal done :):):) Any who, shes a 2001 Y reg 2.6 Vectra SRi. Not 100% of the name of the colour yet lol but I really like it. Absolutely mint interior with no mark at all on the half leather. 96,000 miles with only 2 owners before me (last one had it 7 years)...
Hi guys after what has been around 6-7 years i have finally got myself back into 206 ownership. our last gti was sold on as we were expecting our first child so something a tad more practical was required. anyway iv had an itch to get into trackdays for a while so started the search or something suitable and not bank breaking to purchase, straight away i just thought id love track a 206 and within 48 hours i had fount a motor under an hour away and at a good price. so today i headed out did all the relevant checks and struck a deal or £1100 i will be collecting the car next weekend and then the fun can begin. got alot of plans in the pipeline which will see it into a very capable and fun track car, it will certainly be staying n/a...
Right, as i've now had a chance to get christmas out of the way i'm now starting my modding up again on the Calibra so thought i'd get a thread together as this will be an ongoing thing. As a few of you know she already has a shed load done to engine to get it up to 237.2bhp Which isn't bad at all considering its normally asperated and theres loads of room left for improvement. But in the size car it is, a 0-60 of 5.54 seconds isn't bad at all. I bought the car from 200 miles away from where I live as I knew there was something special about this old gal. From the advert I already knew it had a 3.0 engine conversion from Courtenay Sport, plus a few other bits and since i've had it have done roughly about £2000 worth of work to...
Getting a new car to replace the A3 It is a ..... wait for it..... it's quite long..... Audi A4 Avant 2.0 T FSi Quattro S line Limited Edition with 18 inch RS4 wheels, Full leather interior and dual zone climate control. It looks good in a very dark grey and the Chrome around the grill has been blacked out. Front brakes are drilled, grooved and vented as standard. 0-60 7.1 Seconds 31 mpg! And it is a Quattro so it will have really good handling, the test drive was a sheer pleasure. I take delivery on Friday, I can't wait and all pics are pre the final valet and preparation.
Alright so, I purchased the new (not really new) Saab 900 this past week, just picked it up Wednesday, and let me tell you, fast fast fast! It is a 1995 900 SE, 2.0T, 3 door coupe / hatch ! The previous owner is a friend I met through Saab events and saablink. He did a substantial amount of work to the car, all of which are very noticeable. The list includes : -900 transmission swapped for a 1999 9-3 transmission, which is hydraulic versus cable. -Upgraded shifter linkage, much sturdier -Stock turbo swapped for larger TD04 turbo from a Saab 9000 Aero -Cat delete -Full 2.5inch Flowmaster from cat delete back -Stage 2 road tune from a genius by the name of Mike D. -Custom intake piping leading to open air intake -Boost Guage...
Hi guys! My name is Nick. I've been into hot rods and custom cars since I was a kid. For over 10 years, I've been learning the art of metal shaping starting out with a set of about 9 hammers, some dollies, and a 3/4" rubber mat and things have kinda evolved from there. I'd like to extend my hand in appreciation to all the members who have the same passion for cool cars and enjoy taking the time to share their knowledge and experiences. I was hoping to share a completed project built entirely from scratch out of steel that both my dad and I are quite passionate about. This got me hooked on fabricating. I'll post one photo, if you guys feel it's "too out there"...it'll be removed. Thanks very much!
My S2000. Pics 13/8/09 Here it is, my Indy yellow pearl Honda S2000 Got some pics while I was out today. Car is totally standard now but I have a K&N Gen II FIPK induction kit for it. just not fitted yet. Also iv just ordered a chargespeed vented bonnet from japan and have just ordered these in 17's: Suposed to sit a bit wider on the car and make it look mean once lowered  Comments???
Hi everyone been looking at upgrading our current daily driver 08 plate 308 1.6hdi for a while now, and after coming up with a few options we decided an st180 would fit the bill perfectly. After a good search we took a trip to mansfield yesterday to view a real nice spirit blue with just under 40k, fsh, 12 months mot, hpi clear and completely standard. As with anything i was expecting the car not to be as good as it was in the pictures, needless to say i was wrong and it was just as good. Me and the wife both test drove the car as it will be more for her than me as i use the van all week and most saturdays tbh. We were blown away at just how well it drove and i was actually taken by surprise at just how quick it was as i was not...

S'alright. Feels proper weird after driving the GT everywhere for so long. When I first got in it the gearstick throw seemed MASSIVE and reet sloppy because I'm used to my short-shifter. It feels proper slow atm too  Steering though is beautifully weighted, has the best steering of any car I've ever driven. Comortable and has that "big car" feel, dead quiet and refined. 60mpg, £35 a year tax and cheap insurance isn't too bad either. Half-leathers, A/C, alloys, electric everything blah blah.
as alot of you know via my other 206 gti project thread me and the wife are having our first child later this year so the 206 just wouldnt of been practical, it was decided we needed something 5 door with a big boot and on my part something i can keep my hand in with modding :) decision was made on a 2001 octavia vrs in black here is the write up of the for sale ad and also a few pics DESCRIPTION Here we have my precious VRS Octavia for sale. I have owned this car since 2004 and it has never wanted for anything. It comes with a fully stamped service book, mainly serviced at Farmers Skoda in Leicester and latterly at a VW/Skoda specialist. I have all receipts and previous MOT's including the original hand book etc.8 Months MOT, The...
hi everyone me and the wife recently purchased our first joint car together its a 2001 206 gti 138 in moonstone silver, has 107k on the clocks and is a pretty tidy car seeing as its 13 years old since purchasing a couple of weeks ago i have done the following new front discs and pads sportex oval back box new oe centre section k&n panel filter new oil and filter new plugs removed and cleaned throttle bodie and refitted the car is really good to drive it feels well balanced and has a very strong torquey 2.0 16v engine in there, but anyone that knows about this engine knows that it was restricted quite a bit by peugeot themselves mainly by a terrible inlet manifold, crappy exhaust manifold which also rattles like...
I bought the car in 2002 for £250 and have since spent an ever increasing amount of money on it, a year ago I decided to bite the bullet and as I had made a few contacts and friends in the right circles I booked it in for an engine rebuild but as things went on we found more and more things causing problems (rust mainly) and it turned into a bit of a nightmare. I really have a thing for classic motors so I pushed on and volunteered my services after work and at the weekends. It has been a long road but things are starting to come good and I am hoping to have it all finished for the show at the end of June. Unfortunately I cannot afford a respray and all the work besides so please excuse the mismatching panels. It did look quite good...
I really appreciate everyone's enthusiasm on my Rhythm fabrication thread. That really shows the passion you guys have for not only your projects underway in your garages but as well as other members' rides. Thanks very much. I had mentioned that I wanted to share a new project vehicle that was in progress. Like the first vehicle build, it's something that both my dad and I are involved with...I wouldn't have it any other way. The Idea Rhythm was in the final stages of assembly and as crazy as it sounds in the back of my mind I found myself already tossing around the idea of creating a second mid-engine vehicle. However, taking into account what had been learned over the course of the building Rhythm, I decided that if and when...
right everyone after the sale of the previous car fell through (less said the better) :wall: i had a great bit of luck and dropped on this motor from a cracking guy from up cumbria :god: its totally different spec wise to the white one i was going to get and i actually prefer that if im honest as its a lovely base to make a great car from and not ruin the oe looks/charm of it too much. :top: its a 1990 car in red totally standard engine wise apart from a receipt for some form of hybrid turbo stainless system lowered suspension had a resto a few years ago and is in great shape nice and solid in all the usual areas. also had an engine rebuild a few years ago the car has not been on the road since 2014 but the current owner took the car...
