Ok...here is my project.
R11 turbo. I bought it an year and the half ago.
At first it was in horrible condition, but it worked.
There was rust all all over the place. Exhaust pipe was only memory (there was more rust than metal). Exhaust manifold was broken, cranckshaft bearing were in bad shape etc... car was in awful condition.

It has a shedload of trick bits, and im working my way through replacing every bearing,bush and consumable item on the bike so pretty soon she will be absolutely 100%...

I am currently running a 1.0 corsa, its slow, my next car is hopefully going to be a 1.8 focus which im going to go mad on with mods, including a turbo if possible, and heres my question, obviously it is possible to turbo the car but what problems would i encounter and how would i fix them, i know how to fit the turbo but i wouldnt know how to fix any problems that crop up due to it, the focus will most likely be the very first 'style' (98 to 04 i think) if that helps.

on Ebay to add to my parts list for the Turbo setup I want to put in my;
95' VS 3.8l V6 Ecotec Holden Commodore.
I'm not sure if there's many VS's getting around with turbo's.
There would be some with Super charger setups but not many (if any???) that run from exhaust system.
This sytem will be built to a budget so I'll be making my own headers to fit the turbo's. I'm thinking stainless pipe @ 35 to 40mm?? for setion to turbo from the exhaust ports. Then 50mm down through the Ypeice.
For the turbo's I have 2 TC06's but with O/sized impellers. I have 1 ready with a 50/70 impeller + housing inlet & exit...

i used to have a mk2 golf gti.it had lots of electricle problems so sold it to a lad in liverpool. drove from wiltshire to liverpool. then got on the train to county burham to pic this up. bit of a gamble as i new nothing about the car and had to drive 327 miles home on my own with no breakdown cover. lol i like liveing on the edge.

I know an MG isn't everyones cup of tea, but I love it. It's been in my possession for over 5.5 years and is work in progress. Not one to have shed loads of money to throw at it as having a house, wife, teenage daughters, cats and dogs etc tends to drain the stamford wallet somewhat!
So on that basis having a couple of cars is a bit of a luxury so it gets treated as and when funds allow and when bargins come up!
Technically it is work in progress as I am always finding something to do on it.

hi all, my names sam, im 19, and own a 1988 mini jetblack, which i use for mini shows and trackdays, ive done hill climbing, and am planning on having a go at dragracing :P.
at the moment its got a 1293cc, with a fairly lairy cam, race spec cylinder head, straight cut drop gears, twin carbs, 3.65 fd, 10row oil cooler.
suspension wise, spax adjustables all round, adjustable ride height all round, heavy duty adjustable tierods, adjustable bottom arms. 12" revolution wheels, with yokohama a539 tyres. brakes are 8.4" disc, with grooved and crossdrilled discs, yellow stuff brake pads.

Its a very rare Series 2 RS Four S (maybe 5 or 6 in the UK ) and the last model with the early style body. Colour is called "snow white" which is pearlescent

Project is not mine, however since i am very much into mechanics and cars in overall (which is why we all are gavered here :D ) since i have my personal "Car Detailing" shop and pasion to cars, i am intorucing You a project of one of My friends. He is using My garrage now to work on with a car, and once it is technicaly ready i will get my fingers stuck onto it's bodywork (washing, claying, polishing wellm and getting a proper looks for it).
What's more as an info, advices and certain upgrades were provided by one of this kind best car "tuning" specialist who prepares rally cars for the tracks.
Currently cars weight is 800kg. In plans there are still 100kg to drop.

This has a a back box and air filter only.
Any other ideas on what i can do to make this faster taking into account that where i live there is no place to do a remap.

She is my first and most certainly not the last! As up until last week I had 5 of these, for my sins, 2 were NA auto and one of them got sold to a friend who is now discovering what an ass raping feels like good job it's only a NA!

Im not sure how long i will have this car, if it has come to me for the dire TLC it was in need of to be then sold back on or if it is one that will stay in the ever growing collection of classic J-Tin.
Either way, it is here with me and a step in the right direction.

Ok, this is gonna be a diary of mods with step by steps of how i done them ect a few other forums do them and they are always good reads i havent done anything as of yet but i have a few pics.
Ok, so what i have planned is a nice set of 17" black rims tinted windows light sound system upgraded brakes as the brakes are crap maybe an induction kit and a nice sounding exhaust. all very light mods im purly going for style as it is a 1.1 so i have no false hopes of power haha just want to make it nice inside. I may also strech to steal a GTi spoiler and leather bucket seats if they fit.

Well well, you have the space, but all those bits 'n pieces will eat up your working space in a jiffy.
My project is now turning out into a full garage re-think, re-vamp project.
Make sure you utilise every bit of space to it's fullest.
You can use the trusses to store, BUT go easy on the weight. You don't want your roof landing on your pride and joy.
I've made a workbench with storage space and fitted castors to it, like one giant toolbox. Cost was zero, built it from scrap bits and it works well.
Got to get this finished before Spring so I can carry on with my Escort.
The Jetta and Bantam will follow for their transplants after the 'Scort.

got the car to Wakefield Park Supersprint last weekend and managed another PB if only by .22 of a second, now at 1:13:25 and will be trying to get into the 12's next event.
Toyo's are 2 years old now and even thought they still have life left in them I imagine they are quite a bit harder than when I first got them so thinking a new set will help to get me under the 13 sec mark.
Posted time had me finishing 27/101 and even half a second shouldl take me up another 5-6 places
Have probably got the car as far as I can with the handling and will now have to look at power and weight reduction. Power going to be costly so will have to start saving before any investments are made.

So this is the very first post in what should be a long, but enjoyable project!
First off, let me give you a bit of background into the car! I have currently owned the Clio for 2 years, loved every single minute of it. However, it has now come to the stage where I am looking for some more power.
I have considered many options, but decided with some persuasion from a close friend of mine, that the Turbo route is the best.
Looking at some of the kits offered by KTec and Engine Dynamics, I have decided to build my own kit based around these. As I am hoping for around 280 - 300bhp, I realise that some internal components will need to be uprated (Wossner pistons, PEC rods).
I hope to keep this updated as much as possible! I hope...

So I had probably better start this thread by explaining what I'm doing with this car, why and what I've done so far.

The reason for this name is a simple one. My number plate is AT-- GWE and this is a post apocalyptic build. So "Atomic Gwen" seemed to fit nicely.
The Reason Behind the Build
Since my Dad first sat me down to watch the original Mad Max film, I've been hooked on the Post Apocalyptic/ Wasteland aesthetic.
Eventually I started building Rat Bikes and even came 4th and 5th in a custom build show with two that I had made.
After some time building, I found out about a post apocalyptic festival in Buckinghamshire called...
Didnt realise the photos i had taken were quite so bad so will get somemore when an next over but here is the current WIP. Rear arches need done again but like the classic Sunbeam shape.
This shell is actually on a modified Sierra 4x4 floor plan, shortened. Full 4wd with Cosworth Engine (courtesy of a Sierra). Despite the massive gap at the arches it is lowered all round on Konis but has not been adjusted as its better to keep it high for moving around. Ashley competition exhaust, caged, seam welded, was rally spec until they changed the rules. Not quite running right due to dodgy fuel pump. Road legal - if we bothered taxing it. These photos were just taken as it was out the garage - needed a wash but it wasnt dry enough.

I bought the GTO Twin Tubby a couple of weeks ago with the intention of fix and sell, but after just having a drive and the misses telling me to keep it as a toy, how could i resist.

Tbh all you pay for with something like a Forge or Pace FMIC is the name and good fitment. An £100 intercooler of the same capacity will do just as good a job.
Awrighty everyone, im converting my little p reg 1.6 306 into a 306 1.9Gti rudeboy!, i know there are faster and easier engines to fit but i have a 1.9Gti from a 205 sitting with a fancy bottom end (my mate had it as a track car and spent a few pounds on it) so its the one for me.
ive posted in a few other threads (sorry to the few people reading all this again) and have found out i need shafts, hubs, brakes, back axle and maybe subframe from a xu engined 306, im on that just now.
Anyone any ideas on my engine electrics? and what about my keycode immobiliser?
Hey guys, just a quick update on the Fabia : Brembo Supermax discs have now been fitted front and rear along with the matching Supermax pads, at the same time Goodrich stainless braided hoses were fitted and Brake fluid changed. Braking is now intense.
June 29th sees the making of a new Turbo back exhaust, made by Tony Banks in Leeds, this will be 65 mm pipework, a 200 cell cat a resonator and muffler.
June 30th sees the girl hitting the rolling road at JBS car designs in Chesterfield for a full custom remap (stage 2) hoping for around 155 to 160 hp.
Following this at the earliest opportunity I will have vents fitted into the bonnet to allow some of the extra heat out, and the calipers need painting, later some attention to a couple...
well after a lot of blood sweat and tears and 12 months rebuild is finally finished car was stripped every thing cleaned and painted i have replaced ball joints,tie rod ends,strut inserts,rear shocks,fuel fltr, air cleaner element, new sound system,carpet,exhaust system car is repainted origional colour plus $$$$$ more
Finally, we (me and a bunch of other young uns) have made our prototype vehicle called the supermileage vehicle. It is made entirely from scratch to participate in the Shell Eco-Marathon in Malaysia in July.

So here I am again with another project.
The last time it was a Post Apocalyptic Chrysler that exploded immediately after passing an MOT.
And this time it is a 206 (That I swore I would keep nice)
However, it passed an MOT and lasted more then a week... so now I'm most likely going to bugger it up.
The car in question is a 2002 Peugeot 206 CC 2.0l. (Yes it is a hairdressers car, but I do cut my own hair... so :p )
I intend to try a Cyberpunk style as I really like the aesthetic of it all. Not quite sure how to go about it just yet.
Anyhoo, I will keep you all updated as I inevitably mess up a perfectly functioning car. |B
Hi everyone. :) I've had a Mazda MX5 for the past 6 years and have done loads to it over the years. I know its now to everyone's taste, but here's a few pictures anyway.
Its a 1997 1.8 fitted with an emanage blue thats currently running my supercharger with 150mm crank overlay and air water intercooler. I have larger injectors, uprated pump O2 clamp, an Innovate LC-1 kit and a knocklite sensor.
I'm a complete noob when it comes to tuning and but have managed to fit and tune everything myself. I am running about 8psi and am looking at upping the boost a bit more.
I'm also planning on fitting water/methanol injection so I've been reading up on it and am on the look out for a kit.
i purchased a 1981 datsun bluebird about 4 years ago, it was a humble auto GX sedan.
i got hold of some TRX rims cheap, so on they went.
then i got a set of twin 1 3/4 su carbs and some light work to the head and cam to the L20B, and also converted it to manual, with some big dramas due to the floor pan
the difference was quite substantial, so i had to make custom gearbox mounts.
for some tunes i have two amps, 600 and 1000 watts a 12 inch sub and 5 speakers.
i took it off the road about a year ago to do some minor bodywork, and that soon changed to an engine overhaul (ca18de) and upgraded suspension dropped about 1 3/4 inches
and also some S13 ca18 rims, with a 25 mm swaybar from an R31 skyline and soon to have twin swaybars at the...
