Hi everyone. I just bought a Chevrolet Matiz 2007 model. Full service done plus new brakes and pads and brand new clutch kit. The things is, while im driving, the car doesnt have power in acceleration, it brakes or slowing down while i am accelerating. Doesn't go over 40m/h and drink 80£ worth of petrol. Last week while driving on motorway the car was trebling and the steering wheel too. What might be the problem guys. Please if anyone has any idea please share.
My original blog post which has images. I finally finished replacing the clutch cable on my brothers pug106, it's not technically difficult just incredibly fiddly but still best done as a two man job to keep up morale as it took us 4 days. The worst thing is the Haynes manual only considers it a one spanner/novice job! Some people have had luck in doing this in 5 minutes some took hours and many clutch cables. Here's some information and a guide which might make the process easier for you... The clutch is basically a disc which in the default state is pressed up against the engine flywheel by strong springs, when you put your foot on the clutch it pivots and pulls the clutch cable up and this moves the clutch release lever and moves...

Hi everyone I've decided I want to give it a go at putting a SR20 engine into a Nissan Micra. I found the engine haven't got the car yet looking for 'the one'. The only thing i'm not sure on other than fitting it in is which gear box to use. I'm trying to do this on a strict budget and hopefully mak4 it into a tread once done.
for badly faded and dull black bumper plastics, heat up plastic with a heat gun and waft as if using an aerosol this will will return your bumpers or any faded plastic trim ,back to its former glory.hair dryers simply dont generate enough heat it has to be something hot and dont be scared to really heat up just be careful not to touch surface with the end of your gun.
hi i have recently got myself a polo clssic 1.6 and on inspecting the engine bay have spied some devious little rust spots staring to appear on the top of the suspesion mount i think... anyhoo what advice can people give to remedying this problem as there is little to no space to get paintbrush betwix shock and bodywork externally and if i only treat the top then the problem will be more likely to occur,, especially as i have to drive 30 miles across moors evryday before 6 am so daresay im going to encounter a little bit of roadsalt!! cheers ppl
Firstly I've never done this before, I was starting to do it then got lazy and just got them powder coated from a company lol here's a rough guide so you know roughly how it works and if I miss or do anything wrong, just point it out :P Thanks Firstly remove the wheels from the car: I wouldn't Advise on doing it on Stone chips but these have been very hard packed into the ground but do it with care! You'll need some Supply's which you should have gotten first but hey I always do things the hard way :P Some 60 & 120 Sand paper, some Cheap primer and Alloy Wheel Primer and (Colour of your choice) Black Gloss and some Laguaer. Now have the tyres removed from the Wheels unless your only wanting to do the face of the alloys...
2013 Genesis Coupe. But you can do this with any car. So on Amazon I found some ver cheap LED lighting and picked up 4x 30 cm LED red strips (not very bright, US$6.88) , and 2x 2 waterproof LED white lighting strips (almost as bright as headlights, US$5.85 for each). You'll need a soldering iron & solder heat shrink wrap (or tape...) elec tape (if for nothing else than to wrap the split loom junctions) install bay 1/4" split loom to wrap up the wiring wire (thin guage wire is fine, LED takes very little power) I used speaker wire hoop terminal connectors (or you can wrap the wires around the screws for a ground) wire strippers This weekend I did a little project and did an easy LED strip lighting mod to my car. I'm looking for a...

Thanks in advance gtivirgin
so i have recently got a aftermarket air filter which i which to fit to my renault clio 1.2 for the noise really. But not really sure how to go about it, the videos on youtube aren't very helpful because as far as i can tell i can't find a Filter box. so not sure where to begin.
Pics are to follow right now i am just writing it so i myself dont forget what i am doing! Things you need : - A socket set or similar to remove the wheel bolts (17mm) - A degreaser to clean the wheels - Various grit wet and dry or glass paper. - Masking tape (around 2 rolls) - Several sheets of newspaper - A dust brush or similar - 800ml of Primer (usually 2 cans) - 800ml of Paint - 800ml of Clear Lacquer Firstly, you need to remove the wheels from your car. If you have no replacement wheels, you need to put the car on axle stands. Follow the guidelines in the Haynes manual or find secure points on the car as otherwise you could cause damage to the underside of the car and possibly find the floor inside the car has been pushed up...
First off, hello i havent been on in a while. I have done a search and had a look on here i cant find a guide to fitting a exhaust back box, is there one or any tips i can have to fit one successfully. I would imagin you unbolt or slide off the back box remove the pipe maybe small amount of cutting involved. Then to put the new one on slide pipe back in slide the arms into the rubber put the sealent on and clamp?
Alrighty then.... Ive done a fair bit of spraying but nothing fancy, but was gonna have a stab at the mpv as it needs to be smartended up and needs the extra protection. Trying to keep this short, i want to deal with all the minor rust thats appearing. The final goal though is to wrap the vehicle for business use. So before I burn cash wrapping bad pannels i wanted to get them keen and protected from future probs. A mazda mpv 2003 from the factory would be sprayed with water based colour paint, but a thinner based top coat, is that correct? Is there any chance I could key the affected areas, spray using a solvent based 2k paint a holding coat, build it up and then flat it. Give it a month or so, then it could be wrapped...
ok, so got my old silver rims because my car tread is getting seriously low, but i have always liked silver n black so i decided to paint them pearlescent black i bought grey primer aswell got a few pics i dulled the laquer on before and sanded 80 180 400 1000 then 1500 grit sandpaper took a while but well worth the effort ! This is why 90 mph emergency stop didnt do this tyre anygood.
Thought you guys might like this :) Here it is in action A video of an older version http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=CWW4PQQz2uE If you want to see what it looks like. I'm always surprised just how much alcohol is on my breath the morning after... just a warning, easily enough to dampen your reactions.
This is actually a model specific question. And if at all possible, I'm looking for DETAILED answers. (also, I'm American and terrible at unit conversion, please try to use the American measurement, or at least give the name of the measurement you're using so I can locate a converter) And after finishing, I realized how long this was, so I decided to put a warning here that this is a very long and detailed post, but I will greatly appreciate everyone who takes the time to read through it and answer at least one of the questions here. I'm a rather adept "backyard mechanic", but not very well versed in performance upgrades and design. So I'm looking for a little designing a turbo system for my car. Here are the details. 1995 Honda...
Hey guys, So, Im wanting to get started on a project car in a few years time once I’ve done my degree so I’m gonna get started on collecting tools and accessories I’m gonna need for when I get started. If anyone has any particular brands they want to recommend, specific tools that I’ll need everything like that it would be so helpful. I don’t mind paying a good price for a reliable, hard-wearing piece of kit.
Dont waste gbp125-150 per front caliper and be off the road for 4 working days, while waiting for the refurbished ones, when they start sticking (as they surely will because all Impreza's seem prone to this). you can buy a replacement rubber kit from the main delaer for gbp30 that does both sides. Depending on how bad they are, and mine were bad, takes about 2-3hours per side. Would have put up a guide on how to change them but doing it in zero degrees, outside, with flakes of snow falling didnt prompt me to stop and get out the camera. just makes sure the pots are very clean before you put them back in and ONLY if they have small pits of rust on them clean them off LIGHTLY with a bit of 1200 paper, nothing more harsh or you...
Ok so i plugged my pug 206 gti in to obd and it showed up coil bank 1 so ive sourced a coil pack off of a breaker on facebook 15quid . But its off a vts will this be alrite do you think . If your car won't start use the checklists in this thread to diagnose the problem. Flat battery - do they lights dim to a faint glow when the starter motor cuts in? Starter motor - does the starter motor relay click into place, is the starter motor actually spinning and turning over the engine. Sometimes you lose some teeth on the starter ring so there is no contact with the starter motor, putting the car in gear and rocking it backwards and forwards is usually enough to rotate the starter ring slightly and make contact. Please suggest other things to check in the event of a non starting car in this thread.
I'm considering doing something called a "Porsche Kit" in a few years, when I have more money and possibly a garage or house (yeah, I can rent a garage... $80/mo, I gotta convince landlord to let me install a $2000 9000lb lift, maybe I can sell it to them). I've heard of such a thing. I can't find one. Also, skip the engine. I want diesel. Yes I am a diesel whore. I've been googling around but it's like... hard. I see things about kit cars, but no "BUY CAR KITS" except the lotus. Am I missing it? "Kit car" and "Car kit" are crappy terms for searching. Just something to do down the line, should be fun. If no kits, I can one-off one from spare parts :\
We bought my '98 Chevrolet Tahoe used, and within a year it blew a turn-signal bulb in the rear. A really helpful auto-parts store guy informed me that this was the only common issue on this vehicle that he knew of (quite true so far; Bertha, the truck, has otherwise been very nicely reliable). So I began to look at options. The store had LED bulbs which were listed with exactly the same part numbers. I tried two different kinds, and odd behavior resulted, lights coming on and staying off just wrongly; so I replaced with incandescent that time. I was also told that the circuit-board is often at fault, so I replaced that too. Eight months later or so, ditto. So I dug, and I learned that there are special flashers designed for...
i'm trying to remove a dent on my door - i think caused by a kick imagine if you kicked hard with the sole of your foot against the right hand end of the door handle. the result is like a crater where one end of the door handle has pushed the panel in. pulling on the handle has popped out 2/3rds of the problem. the rest is a) against the handle and b) on a panel angle/crease so one of the domestic suction cup things could not get a seal (if they ever work, they wont on this one) the torque cars article talks about an m shaped dent puller. searching on the web i'm just wading through hundreds of suction cups - anyone give me advice on whether the hot glue and m shape could remove my type of dent, and where/by what name i can get...
There comes a time when every paint job has reached the end of its natural life. Assuming you care about these kinds of things, what do you do? Wrap it or paint it? When it comes down to it your costs will be about even so it’s really a question of preference. If you’re looking a truly unique pattern or finish (like the sticker bomb wrap above) then wrapping s the way to go but nothing beats paint for durability. So, lay or spray? Weigh in here and we’ll let you know the results next week.
My 2003 punto does not have an intermittent rear wipe and only one setting on the front . In my local scrappys there are some with the function an the stalk , so question is if I replace my stalk with a different one would I have the function ? I have read that it is the stalk that controls the functions . I have had a look on line and from what I can find out there is one wire missing between the stalk that has the function and one that has not . Can any one shed any light on this ? thanks for looking

I want to remove my current tank as im caring too much fuel on track. My question is what do i need, Do i need a tank with swirl pot? I'm modifying an '88 Z31 for speed, but I'm confused. My process begins with the exhaust, intake, boost controller, and now... I/C. I don't want to spend a lot of money on a I/C kit but don't have to tools to make my own, or the time to be that creative. I found this kit.... http://www.cmperformanceexhaust.com/online-store/z31-intercooler-kit/z31-i-c-kit-01?pop=0 and this one..... http://www.cmperformanceexhaust.com/online-store/z31-intercooler-kit/z31-i-c-kit-02 Idk, why the first kit is so much cheaper. Also, is it a full kit? Lastly, I was planning on getting a manual boost controller, how does this play out with the BOV? I found this kit...
hi, my plan for my 240sx was to put an rb20det engine in it, which costs like around 1300 i think to order, but a friend of my dad sais he ordered a ka24de from japan, and japan did engine work to it, it is not turbocharged its only dual head cams and electronicaly fuel injected, naturaly aspirated, like i said he had them do work to it and my dad said that he thinks his friend said it puts out around 300hp, this seems impractical to me considering it is not turbocharged and the stock engine comes with around 150hp??? he said he would sell it to me for 6 or 700$, it would really take the hassle of ordering an engine and shipping and stuff, but i just wanna know if it is possible to get 300hp from a KA24de naturaly aspirated...
Re: Ideas for basic guides - what you want to see in this section I would like to see some advise on safety procedures, just basic stuff like jacking up AND supporting cars on proper axle stands, the wearing of safety goggles and gloves when welding/grinding and suitable clothing, seems daft but just today I saw in the press a young girl had been killed when her scarf got caught in the drivetrain of a gokart she was driving..... . . .not a nice way to go and a sad loss of a young life. I speak from experience guys, after 30 years in the trade 3 visits to casualty to have metal removed from my eyes and once for a slip with an angle grinder and unbeleivably recently I managed to chop the top off one of my fingers, luckily its grown back...
Hi All, I have a 98 Landrover Discovery, the bonnet has the letters missing, the laquer has started pealing and it generaly looks a mess, I also have some scratches to repair on the rear pannels. My questions are:- do I repair a section of the bonnet or respray the whole thing when respraying the rear pannels, well same question really, do I do the top half (that has the scratches on) or the whole thing, the scratches are where someone have gone down with a key so I cant just pen them out, i tried and it looks a real mess, it needs properly respraying. I have been quoted £250.00 from a garage to do the work but I can get the paint mixed cheaper (far cheaper) and try and do the work my-self. I already have a compressor, spray...
I have a video on the web of how to upgrade your front disc brakes and rotors on a 00 Mitsu Galant. This video can also be used as a general how to for any car. If there is anything that you think should also be done feel free to comment. (Video is in two parts on you tube) Video 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9dPfXHWvHo Video two http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ly4ScbY8rwM
Hi there, new here and have a rather specific question. Recently made a purchase of a bosch kts350 for diagnostics. It runs Windows 10 and plugs straight into an obd and has alot of other connection capabilities. My question is, can this be used for remapping? It is essentially just a hand held computer, so would make some sense if there was just a cable and software able to do this.
Has anyone attempted, or successfully made their own carbon fiber body panels? I came across a video of a guy making his own stuff and I thought it looked like a pretty interesting project to take on. Also, to those who have done it, did you save any money on making your own stuff considering you have to buy all the equipment and vacuum compression bag (if that's what you would call it)? And for someone who's inexperienced, is this an relatively easy project to take on if you have plenty of free time and patience? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.
Hello guys, I have bought a BMW 728i 1996, around 220 000 km. I was thinking to increase the horse power / torque on this engine. What is the best thing i can do? installing a new, modified cpu or changing the sparkplugs / fuel pump or any other idea's ? I'm verry interested! If you perhaps have a repair manual or techical info about this car i would be gratefull! Greets, Spillie :)
