How do you repair corroded alloys

What is the best way to repair alloy wheels that have got a bit corroded at the edges? Are the kits in halfords any good?

either buy the kit and do the best job possible, or see if chips away are able to do anything?!

Send them to a wheel reburbisher and get them done properly, it will be better in the end.

take them off use wet and dry to get them smooth and then respray them, thats what i am doing next on my car, will update with pics and that, will be next month though as i cant be bothered to do it at the minute and i have some other stuff to fix first!!!

if it goes anything like my spraying inside i will be more than happy to post pics and a guide for all those wishing to try a bit of diy.

If it goes badly then i have nothing to lose as i would have to get new alloys anyway!!
