Driving in France: New Rules & New Scams
Driving in France? Beware of the Low Emission Zone scams.
From 1st April 2017, failure to purchase and display the correct Low Emission Zone permit could result in a fine of between €68 and €135.
Unsurprisingly these new rules are being used by scammers to make a quick buck. The official Low Emission Zone permits or Vignettes cost a few euros. Scam websites are selling them at much higher prices.
Currently there are zones in Paris, Lyon and Grenoble. Permits are required for all types of vehicles including passenger cars and motorbikes.
