The job of the exhaust is to break up the sound pulse from the engine, muffling the sound and allowing the exhaust gases to escape efficiently.
Adding a supercharger
We look at adding a supercharger to a NASP (naturally aspirated) engine and focus on the main problem areas and considerations encountered in a tuning project of this scope.

Particulate filters and FAP Performance gains.
The particulate filter is a stand alone unit. It is located upstream of the cat in the exhaust system and its purpose is to remove soot particles from the gas stream. The cat the proceeds to do its usual job of converting CO to CO2 and is in no way dependent or relied upon by the particulate filter.
In diesels the cats are two way devices and run in unregulated mode (ie. no O2 sensor like a petrol car).
Twin scroll turbos
We look at the advantages of twin scroll turbos, discuss how they work and how to set them up. People have used twin turbos in the past to address many of the problems you hit with a single turbo and the twin scroll turbo offers a neat drop in upgrade and provides many advantages.
