How to add a turbo to a non turbo car.

Adding a turbo or supercharger is a fairly complex modification so we’ll cover the basics of adding a turbo upgrade in this article. The idea of doubling your power with one “simple turbo upgrade” is certainly appealing, but what is involved in a turbo conversion project? What are the common problems when a car is turbocharged? How do you add a turbo safely to a car?

A look at high performance wheels

One popular modification done to cars is replacing the wheels. We will look at the types of wheel available, the pros and cons of each and look at the implications of fitting different size wheels.

We will be challenging the concept of wider wheels giving more grip and looking at the effect a larger rim size has on a cars performance.

What is an induction kit and what does it do.

As induction kits are probably one of the most popular modifications for car tuning projects we thought we should add a introductory article to explain what they are, what they do and the theory behind them.

An induction kit is quite simply an air filter. Most cars have air filters mounted in an air box. These filters are generally constructed of paper which filters out the particles from the air and prevents these from getting into the engine. The airboxes are designed to reduce the noise of the engine and have various vanes and angles cut to maximise this noise reduction.

Gearbox Remapping

We look at ways to improve gearchanges on your automatic gearbox. Remapping the gearbox will improve shift times, improve acceleration and provide a more lively drive. So OBD port engine tuning/remapping of modern gearboxes is possible and certainly a mod you should consider.
