What is the biggest bill or quote you've ever got from a garage. Friend of mine was quoted £750 for a standard service on his MX5 by Mazda with the quip "any extra work we find will be on top of that mate!"

If that was for a big service (air, oil, fuel, plugs, coolant, brake fuid and timing belt change) thats about right.
WOW - I'm getting a good deal from my local garage. Full Audi A3 service with genuine Audi parts and Audi oil was only £400 and that included a cam belt change and regas!)
