our equivalent would be:With the discount I get from being a member of the engineering and technolgy organization in Norway (computer engineering student) I pay almost NOK 11 000 a year which is roughly £1200. Car is a stock 2002 Volvo s60. Never crashed and no upgrades to the car.
I don't know how the insurance works in England, but in Norway you insure the car and not the driver. What I've got is called a "part-hull"-insurance which only covers things like theft, fire and the cost if I hit someone else's property. I won't get anything back for my car if it gets damaged from crashing, rolling over or from driving of the road.
Full-hull insurance would cost me £2200 a year which is almost twice as much.
