By and large reviewers like it. Although some of the fittings are not quite up to the standard of the Europeans it goes and handles well and is noticeably cheaper than the rest.

Plus it's providing British jobs. So I hope it does well. There will be those who write it off simply for the badge, but they're the same people who if it had a German badge on would be raving over it.

She's not a bad looker if i'm honest, from the front it reminds me of the Monaro or the VXR8 slightly, if I had £18k i'd be tempted, better that than a Golf anyway

But expect depreciation to cripple the second hand value. I might be able to pick up a slightly used one for £5k next year

I still in my mind have the ROVER stigma attached to MG and just can't shake it off! It's a shame, it will be nice to see the British brand (chinese owned) reborn and reinvented. Just 2000 units per year? I think Aston Martin shift more cars than that.

As an MG fan I'm not that keen on the models shown, not enough MG wow factor for me. If it had the looks of the Roewe 550 RS then that's a different story as it has a bit of brawn about it. I think it has taken them too long to complete this and only building a couple of thousand per year is not going to make many waves is it.

i have just read that a hatchback is soon to be revealed by MG, the MG5,
looks quite tasty to me.....
