I bought myself an OBD bluetooth adapter off ebay and that works fine. Not quite the same thing though I suppose ...
But you know what they say
Buy cheap, buy twice.

Well after an hour studying the readers on ebay I decided on the D900 because it had more buttons and I am a big kid

If it does it for you then good.

The problem with OBDII is that it's a ratified standard. as with all such things - the industry sits down and spends a fortune agreeing a set of standards. And once they're agreed each maker goes away and develops its own set of maker unique codes.

This is typical IT. I'm a bloody IT consultant and I see this all the time.
