Tips on how to boost fuel economy wanted

I see this website is about performance but would it be okay to ask for how to build gas efficient cars? It's really ironic why the media gives propaganda on saving money by buying gas efficient cars when it costs nearly the same as buying a luxury car. I would like to build a gas efficient performance cars to put more money in pocket without actually paying a lot of money to corporates telling me how much money i would save.

Turbos and superchargers are a good way of making efficient power gains.

Driving style is one of the biggest contributers to fuel economy though. How far are you prepared to go with your engine build? Is this a money no object question or a "best things to do on a budget enquiry?"

Do you guys use engines less than 2L? lol, just kiddin.

As Waynne said, driving style is the biggest contubuters to bad fuel economy.

Things like

Weight
Engine Size
Aerodinamics
Gear Ratio
Correct ECU Mapping
Correct tyres (less friction)

are the symple factors when it comes to good MPG.

Couldn't advise about the engine tho, I'm no technical designer.
