I have spent the last 40 minutes looking for a replacement shifter knob for my UK spec Saab 9-3 automatic saloon 2003 but to no avail.
The shifter knob has a button on it which you press to allow the selector to move. I am looking for something a bit striking and possibly universal as I am struggling to find anything Saab specific. I am looking for something with a bit of a wow factor.

Can anyone help? :)

You could get a roll of carbon fibre film from halfords and stick this over it! I'm sure it would look quite classy! ;) Isn't that what everyone else does?

I recall a company called Frazero in Brackley that made all kinds of luxury car interior fitments. Not sure if it's still in business.

Yes they are still going and now that I know who they are :amazed: Not sure that I am in their league!

Did you know they designed and made the centre consol for the mighty Bugatti Veyron

Yes they did ;)

Will nothing fit from a newer automatic mate?

Yes but that's boring :(

Looking for something a bit distinctive, this is what I have now:

If I had a more popular make of car, for instance a BMW, then I could get all manner of designs including ones that look like they come of the Star ship Enterprise with LCD displays and coloured illumination :amazed:

You know Obi Waynne, we never did have that long chat, I feel I can still help you :sad2:..........

Try searching for aftermarket vx ones, probably same fitment.

Now why didn't I think of that? I shall start to surf the net straight away :)

Yeah - it is a bit awkward. Too tall. Even the selector in my ageing Steptronic Munich Rage Magnet looks better

Exactly, it is practically the same length as a manual gear stick which makes no sense to me at all.

^^ It is an Elk and the logo of Hirsch performance who are based in Sweden, they make specialist parts and software upgrades for Saab cars :)

The Saab main dealer T9 upgrade that I had fitted back in 2007 that first put me on the road in search of higher performance uses all parts from the Hirsch catalogue.

Part of the Hirsch package involved a boot lid badge, top right.

The leather dashboard with white stitching, logo centre top.
The steering wheel is a Hirsch model but strangely no logo on it.

There's loads of wood (acrylic laminate in truth, but it looks nice and is very convincing to look at, all over the interior). The selector is nice to operate too, v light to use; the release switch is like a subtle electric trigger which falls under your left hand index finger. There's loads of interlocks too, can't remove ignition key without selecting P(ark). Can't move into D(rive) from N(eutral) when stationary without depressing brake pedal etc etc.

Surprsingly well thought out in my opinion and experience with other Xmissions
