rover200 weight loss plan

trying to lose as much as poss plus around 220+ bhp,am i no hurry
and keep changing my mind so hear goes.
door locks have gone and door /boot rubber seals + side windows that was just over 15kg's hope to get the rear window out today should be good for 10kg's.
looks like a 2.0 mondao engine is going in place of the 14. and she will be 4wheel drive, rad will be in the back . were the rear side windows was may make some air ducks/scoops to flow air to the rad and then out the rear window. doors welded up.spare tyer well will be cut out and a sheet of ally in place. may only have the 1 drivers seat to keep weight down.power steering rack can come out today that should save a bit more

seems we have another case of carnorexia

weres old git when you need him lol

good thread mate but whats your target use for the vehicle something this extreme must have a goal

it keeps changing lol not sure yet.

Not a lot left now ,there go's another good car lol

1 sill down to 9.3kg

If there is not enough room may stick an electric motor insted found one theats 120kg 65bhp continus and about 350+nm .

Electric motor up-date

For my second engine looking for around 10-20kW. To get 12kW out of a 240V motor is around 35 amps and 14 x 12V DC batteries = 2.5 amps from each per hour. as one battery would not last long drawing 35amps per hour. but 14 x 2.5apms = 35/1 hour run time aprox. But as im only using this in bursts just two battries @ 70amps would surfice plus looking in to two alternators @ 55amps each at a cost of 11kg's and 8-10 loss in hp to turn them is out weighed by the torque from the motor.(will up date later some one wants to go on the computer).

The system delivers up to 150 kW (200hp) motor output, yet maximizes vehicle operating range with high efficiency over a broad operating range and comprehensive energy recovery through regenerative braking. Some of the characteristics of the AC-150 are:

Output 200hp @ 6000-12000 rpm
at motor shaft 165ft-lb @ 0-5000 rpm
Efficiency 91% peak efficiency
Battery to shaft 86% at road load
Charger 200 to 20,000 watt
Unity PF, GFI compatible Reductive
Package 180 lb. Total weight including cooling system

OPERATING PERFORMANCE

Voltage 336V nominal

240V min, 420 V max
Current 520A max (drive)
200A max (regeneration)
Torque 165 ft-lb. max, 0-5000 rpm (drive)
85 ft-lb. max (regeneration)
Power 200 hp max 6000-12000 rpm
70 hp continuous
Efficiency 91% peak (40 hp, 8500 rpm)
86% road load (10 hp, 8500 rpm)
>90% recharge (240V line, 10 kW)
