Will you ever own your dream car? If so when?

Do you think that owning your dream car will pop the bubble of hope/excitement and anticipation of the car and make it seem ordinary?

Should dreams and hopes in terms of cars stay that way (as hopes) or is there still a lot of pleasure in obtaining your dream car.

Ever since the Escort Cosworth was released i've wanted one. And i've always said i'd own one some day.
Not sure how long it'll take but I will own one some day.

I don't really have a dream car but I suspect I'd aim for something much bigger and quieter than a Ford Escort. I don't like raw cars. So if I had a dream car it would probably be a Bentley Mulsanne..

Will I ever own one? Not a chance.

My dream cars tend to change around a bit. It depends on money, I would still love an R34 GTR Skyline, but I wouldn't use it as a daily so I'd have to have a second car. I wouldn't mind an E92 or E46 BMW M3 either.

If I won the lottery then I'd probably order a Porsche or Lamborghini to go with the above.

It was a Lamborghini Countach until James May of Top Gear assasinated it one episode on Dave  So think I will fall back on to an Aston Martin DB5 but with a DBS V12 lump and running gear somehow made to fit.

for me used to be the countach, but now am quite like the Porsche GT3 - one day i will have them (i believe in positive thinking so it better bloody well work now!)

Quite happy with the one I've got now so I'm living the dream you could say and it goes really well for not a lot of money. Always aspire to something rarer though so Lambo's, Ferrari's and Aston's fit the bill and a Porsche 993 turbo S would also fit in nicely to the dream collection.

Nope the Hatchback.

Black one with 19k miles, full history file, for sale in this month's Classic Cars - £42k EEK! I think he's optomistic but you never know. I think £20k is the going rate for a good RS500 at the moment and £8k for a Sapphire Cossie 2WD, £5k for the 4WD

It'll be a minter for £42k. If it is it is slightly overpriced, but I over price most things I sell anyway, as it allows room for people to barter you down. You get what you actually wanted for it, they get the feeling they've got a bit of a deal from bartering you down lol.

Unless it's something i just want to get rid of, then I'll price them to sell. Most of the Coupe bits for example.

unless i win the lottery my dream cars will remain a dream:sad2:

but cars i really want that are within my grasp are mk1 golf gti and another mk3 astra gsi

Turbonutter, isn't that the RS500? I can't quite see if it has the 2 piece spoiler or not.

But I can see me owning my dream car within the next 5 years for definate. I could get one on finance now but i'd rather wait till my kids are no longer babies/toddlers till I can afford it a bit easier. But this is my dream car over any other car in the world...

6.0 V8 Supercharged pushing 500bhp standard and all for only £17,000 with 0-60 close under 5 seconds, top speed of over 180mph. Try and find a car as quick or as good for that price :) Remap and new cog for the supercharger and you can see 600bhp very easily.

£6k for an alright one, pocket change. Set your sights higher! RS500 perhaps you meant.

A RWD Saph maybe but if you're talking 3dr then up towards 10/12k for a nice one 40k for an RS500 isn't unrealistic

The Sierra RS500 is also my dream car but by the time i get to own one i won't be fit to drive anywhere

Not got many dreams cars to be honest as I am not that fond of supercars. Only one that springs to mind is an AC Cobra. Other than that I am quite partial to a Mustang in tuned form.
