Longest and shortest times for owning a car

I've never owned a car longer than 12 years! 2 weeks was my shortest!

The two weeks was my first car when it was written off!

The longest was a mk1 Audi A3 1.8T which we loved but the mileage was creeping up and we were starting to get lots of repair bills.

Mine's about a week.

I traded a mk2 Golf C for a mk1 Golf GTI.
About a week later the engine exploded (left bits of metal all over the road).
Went back to the garage to find the whole business had gone. They had several cars for sale, on a forecourt, when I bought the GTI, and the whole operation had disappeared.

Took legal advice and nothing could be done.

Longest is the current Scooby. Sept '12, iirc, is when I got it.

Purchased a cheap Jaguar XJ6 sovereign with wings rusted out but everything else spot on for £150 in 1987. The next day I got a quote for replacement wings and was flabbergasted by the price. £325 each!! The same day I sold it regrettably to one of my mate's for £300! So only had it less than 2 days. Longest is 8 years.
