Had my flywheel and clutch done. My car won't start now. Changing the crankshaft sensor changed today. Also had it put on diagnostics and a couple of fault codes came up. The engine goes to start but won't fire. The glow plug light flashes afterwards.
Any ideas lads ?

Ignition coil/solinoid thing? I had that go on my diesel escort.
Ignition lights came on, but no go. Can you bump it? If you can bump start it, then Id give that a go. Either take it out and give it a knock on the head with a hammer (lightly) or buy a new on for about £4

I'm sure its a solinoid. Just trying to rack my mind. Yeah, not a coil, solinoid they are called.

Tried bumping it. When o get home ill post up the fault codes. It's doing my head on. The clutch IS all done and sorted. Just won't start. It sounds like a bag of bolts when turning it over to start it. Thinking the timing chain might of slipped or an injector problem. Just can't pit my finger on it.

Hang on a minute. Since when has a DMF had anything to do with the ECU? I'd be very careful with a solid flywheel here, you're going to subject the whole drivetrain, engine through to wheels, to vibration.

So if the ecu doesn't like new dmf's then what happens out of the factory?
You sure he's a mechanic and not a monkey?
Think about it. Ford designed and built the car to have a dmf. Why would it not like it seeing as it was designed to have one?

Have been told by the mechanic that the ecu on these Dnt like new dmfs and he is converting it to smf
at his own cost.

Have seen the write UPS on other forums. Once they go the ecu don't like having new ones put back in as the crankshaft sensor doesn't read it aswel. Hopefuly will be sorted with the smf. Let u know how it goes.

hi did you sort out your problem, ive just replaced csc on my solid clutch car wont start and make funny cranikng noise.

error on mine is the camshaft, replaced camshaft. it cranks funny..

my mechanic also sail it might be timing chain, started fine before it went in.
