What is the lowest mileage car you've ever driven?

I took out an Audi A6 TDi Avant Black edition yesterday and it had 3 miles showing on the clock! I put over 100 miles on it that day and had a fantastic time!

There is something about a new car but I'd rather wait a few years untill the £40k price tag has dropped to about a third! ;)

Has anyone on here owned a car from new?

Had my Primera from new in 1997. Delivered with 12 miles on the clock.

In 1998 I drove I hired Golf GTi (2.0, eight valve) with just 0.3 miles on it.

Have to say that cars do not deteriorate with miles and age provided they are properly serviced and driven with some sympathy. Sure, use all the revs right through to the red line, and limiter if you're determined, but be gentle until the engine is properly and evenly at running temperature.

Again, prescriptive servicing is a MUST. And servicing is cheaper than mending broken stuff.

I regularly see 6000rpm+ in my 138,000+ mileage BMW 528i. It's totally fine, uses about a wine glass full of (fully synthetic BMW approved) oil between services. Services are on the green lights variable intervals, generally about 15,000-17,000 miles apart.

I had a SAAB convertible hire car for the weekend that had 130 miles on the clock.
When I bought the beast it had 53 miles on the clock ;) 129K miles later we are still a happily married couple

I had one of the first SLKs in the UK and also bought a PT cruiser new .

One was and is a great cat the other isnt...........no prize for which is which

(a clue would be I still have the SLK )

I had a company Renault extra van in 1989 with 6 miles on the clock.
It was rubbish compared to the 1.3 petrol escort it replaced.

Any woman would be happy with that amount of money and cosmetic surgery lavished on her :)

Her indoors already thinks that I spend far too much time with the beast as it is :embarrest:

Bottom line, the car nevers argues back, it always appreciates what I do for it, also I don't have to worry about what I say to it if I react to seeing another good looking car
