If you keep an eye on your cars trip computer do you ever see it plummet to new lows when you accelerate hard?

What's the lowest your MPG has shown?

I got mine down to 5.5 mpg in my A4 quattro! That's about as low as I've ever seen

Dont have a trip computer, but I do keep a spreadsheet.
The lowest MPG I've seen across a tank was 15.8mpg.

Don't have time to look or care about MPG when having a red hot go on track days when it will be a contender for the lowest number. and I am all :)es.

PS I love seeing all the electric cars as that means that there will be more petrol left for lovers of internal combustion engines for much longer |B :)

My old R33 GTR could empty it's 60lt tank of super unleaded in 150 miles so that works out to about 11MPG  That's just on normal driving roads so goodness knows what it would of done on the track (8})
As a contrast (and bit of a tangent) to my last post, on those same driving roads my curernt Golf returns 600+ MPG from its 60lt tank and I can't see I'm getting to my destination any quicker in most cases but it is more boring sound and involvement wise

19 mpg from my 1968 Ford Escort, thrashed for 400 miles over a weekend in North Wales, lots of twisty lanes, avoiding stray sheep etc. Big problem: lack of fuel stations!

That would be a big issue. However I do love the roads in Wales, they are so pretty and well laid out.

Way back in the 70's when I drove my Datto 1600 to an the event the fuel consumption wile competing in the event was app double of what it used getting to and from the event.

Twice as good or twice as bad? Twice as good would require a hill descent course!
Obi I think you may need to read my post again and when you do I can see you doing this .V(

Just to be clear 30+MPG getting there and back on public roads and 15 MPG competing on closed forestry roads/tracks:)

PS there were a lot of hills that had to be climbed as well as decended and when we pulled into 1 end of competitive stage the official was amazed at the glowing orange color of the discs that had been working well and when we left to go on a transport stage the pedal went to the floor due to no airflow standing still at the control causing the fluid to boil and it took a wile before the pedal felt normal again.
