Just going out for a pub meal with some friends and I had a car shunt into the back of my A3 whilst I was stationary waiting to turn right!

His Blue escort looked pretty bad with a smashed front bumper and wing and broken headlights.

On a cursory glance it doesn't look like there is a scratch on mine though! I'll wash it in the morning and see if the bumper is still solid underneath.

Now should I put in a claim for 4x whiplash and a hire car whilst I'm at it! I actually felt sorry for the guy, he'd just bought the car and was coming home from the MOT test!

Oh dear that's not fun at all, glad it wasn't serious though. :D

Regardless of what it looks like & as there's going to be a claim made by the other party I think I'd get the car checked by Audi, I made the mistake in the past of thinking my one of my cars was fine after a low speed bump only to find out much later on it wasn't, at my wallets discomfort.

Worth getting looked over, car plus occupants just incase. Just make sure that when you do get it looked at ensure if it is okay that it is not logged as a claim.

Not good Mate! But please for the love of god don't add to the claim culture on Whiplash Accidents happen only claim if the car is damaged!

While I had Golf3 similar accident hapens to me. At first it does'nt look like any damage was made, but later I find out that the rear trunk wall (hope i described that part good enough) was moved forward for couple of milimeters.
That has damaged my trunk lock after few weeks because of slight rubbing against part of the lock that is bolted to the trunk wall.
Also after couple of months the plastic of my rear bumper deviated a little.
Check if your bumper holders (or should I name it bumper carriers?) is not bent at all.

If it's everything OK, I would not put any claim if that means the other guy got consequences.
But if I could make claim in expense of insurance company alone without puting other driver in biger trouble he's already in - I'll go for it. They pull the skin of us wherever they can so no mercy.

Waynne is going to have to claim. Just cause there is no visible damage to the bumper I could be a totally different story behind it;)

If you read what i put herb I said only claim on the car but don't claim on the whole getting out the car moaning that your neck hurts e.t.c.

Get the car examined definitely. As all others say only claim for injury if you're actually hurt.

My claim is still ongoing since 2009 - I still have some mobility problems since the collision due to damage to my right foot and I think it's only proper that it should be compensated.

I won't be claiming for injuries and although I could get a new bumper out of it I'm probably just going to get the paint fixed but I will see what the body shop say Monday! As long as its all solid it should be fine!

Get it written off and get a BMW instead!

Glad all are ok. On the other hand though, go for the claim. Insurance companies are pigs when it comes to going into the back of someone and ALWAYS give the win to the person you went into the back of. Worth doing just to forget about and one day you will have a nice suprise of around £1300-1500 :)

Even if he had just picked the car up, it's still his fault for going into the back of you. Now he'll understnad why they are called Found On Round Dead lol.

How did I miss this one? Glad your OK Waynne, a lot of good sound advice here for you to digest, I have a feeling that you already know what you want to do by now!

Yup I could just do without the hassle of dealing with insurers right now and body shops but I can't leave it like it is and it wasn't my fault.I'll see what the damage is on Monday for sure and report back.

All checked over and structurally sound, small dent in bumper and extensive paint scuffing. had a quote from a local guy to fix it all for £150, a bargain if you ask me and the other guy is happy to pay this himself!

If I'd gone to a proper body shop and got a new bumper the bill would be over £1000! So I'm doing my bit to keep insurance premiums low for everyone.
