Help - Golf 3 VR6

hi guys,

i need some help please i got a Vr6 golf 3, when the car is idleing it feels like to wants to switch off the ref counter goes up and down, im not sure could this be the air flow meter doing this or the fuel pump, bcoz some days its fine for a day or 2 then it starts again

any help will do

could be the idle control valve, dirty throttle body, split vac line or as you say the airflow meter.

cleaning the ICV TB and MAF can all be done with carb cleaner however the MAF might not like it for long
