AEM V2 intake system

Hey guys has anyone with a Civic Type R used an AEM V2 and noticed any significant improvement on the performance.

The manufacturers state it gives 18bhp but I know some guys who specialise in modifying cars and say its only worth doing it if you upgrade your exhaust system and even then you're looking at getting 5/8 extra horse power.

Has anyone dyno tested it?

Just been reading and trying to get more info and reviews on the V2, but seems to me that most Type R owners are in most favour of GRUPPE M induction kit.

The only thing is they are very expensive

If you got one I would love to know your opinion on this compared to the V2 or any other 8)

the only time i have seen a induction kit get what it claimed was on a honda s2000 with full exhuast and the important bit the bonnet open to maximise airflow and lower engine temp with the bonnet closed it lost around 7 bhp.

ant remember who made it found it when i was looking for one for ma civic that was around 4 years ago

Is the positioning of the vents vital or anywear on the bonnet?
