What the for sale ads really mean

Thought we'd do a thread on what the real hidden meanings are behind the for sale ads.

"Few cars in this condition!" - Most that got this bad have been scrapped.
"Runs like new." - A new car sitting in the showroom is not run.
"mechanically sound" - is actually quite noisy probably a bearing or something minor like the engine on it's way out.
"1 careful owner" - the other 9 owners were not so careful.

"Genuine Reason For Sale" - It's a piece of unreliable junk which costs a fortune to maintain and drives like a rogue sofa under the influence of gravity. [That's why I genuinely want rid of it];

"Rare model" - very few were ever sold because the thinking buyer avoided it like the plague when new;

"Any trial" - [will be enough to render it totally unroadworthy];

"First to see will buy" - Everyone else will stay well clear.

Some ads do crack me up though.

I saw one the other day that said "test drives will be with me driving only."

I can understand wanting to weed out test pilots but I'd never buy a car I couldn't drive first.

What sort of a mug do you think I am?? A 1990 Nissan Pulsa at 34000 miles. Thats only 162 miles a year! I walk to the toilet more than that a year!

Short tax and MOT: means it'll be expired by the time you come and see it.

Rare model: means the rest rusted to death.

Barn find: tried to hide it but got found out.

Smooth ride: when pushed.

Evo spoiler: ideal for a handle when pushing.

Some service history: got stamps for the first 20k miles, but the remaining 100k there is nothing but for a few receipts.
