Hello All,

I've got my hands on a 5th gen celica to use as a dedicated track day car. Any suggestions as to any worthwhile modifications to improve performance on a reasonably tight budget?

Cheers for your time

Dan

Hi Dan and welcome to TorqueCars. How much are you looking to spend.

Free mods:
Weight reduction, strip out everything you don't need and the sound deadening.

Handling mods:
A set of adjustable shocks and poly bushes with an anti roll bar will sharpen up the cornering. It is also worth uprating the brakes or at least getting a track oriented brake pad set.

Engine Mods:
You will really need an aftermarket ECU like the APEXI Power FCII to make the most of your mods, a fast road cam lighter flywheel, head work (polishing, porting and 3 angle valve job), sports exhaust with a decat (for off road use or use a sports cat if you need it to be road legal).

Hope this helps for starters, if you need any more info on these check our tuning articles or post up any question you still have and we will try to sort them for you.
