Focus Zetec 1.6
hey guys, this is my first post so be gentle, sorry about the essaY!
ive read through a lot of posts already and people seem to be quite knowledgable and give sound advice!

anyway this is my focus! bought it during the summer and since then ive not done anything to it, its a 1.6 16v zetec model with a colour coded side skirts, 16" wheels from another ford model, i cant remember which one and an aftermarket wing. these are the only mods made so far.

anyway to cut to the chase, im a student and so im on a student budget and ive drawn up a list of prices and things i think i can fit or work i can carry out myself. just want a good opinion really on what people think and if its a good place to start!

i plan to carry out the changes over a long period of time, when im back at home from university.

anyway heres the list:

new plates £30 - Fit myself
induction kit - £52 - Fit myself
rear lights £64 - Fit myself
FSE boost valve £80 - Fit myself (I THINK?!)
exhaust £100 - Fit myself (I THINK?!)
window tints + fitting £120
front lights £150 - Fit Myself
lowering springs + fitting - approx £300
debadged! £0

Bare in mind i have no experience except from changing a rear light cluster on a ford fiesta - Do you think i could do most of my items myself or with a friends help?

Regards, Monkers!

should be alright with a mate maybe a couple depending on the exhaust.
FSE id adviseusing the a manual as youll need to depressurise the fuel system

thanks for the heads up, im gonna order a haynes off ebay :)
with just a sports backbox, will i see any performance increase really? ive heard a couple of hp.

with just a back box , not much performance gains, some, but not lots.

you will however get a nice exhaust note coming out the back end:toung:

sounds good to me, get it!? poor joke i know
but yeh, making it sound nicer is a big plus.
anyone recommend any student budget, good quality back box makes?

I think the price and sound of Cherry bombs are hard to beat although you will need to make a custom mount for them.;)

Welcome to TorqueCars - its good to have you along and as long as you read up and take your time you'll surprise yourself as to what you can accomplish.

powerflow custom built me a stainless steel backbox for my old car, an escort for £200 fitted. Asked me how loud i wanted it on a scale of 1 - 10, i went for a 7 :D :D
