Ceramic engine blocks - is it possible?

Reading the benefits of ceramic coatings on exhausts I got to thinking, why don't they make ceramic blocks.

You'll have a thermally efficient engine, with very little expansion or contraction and internal friction will be minimal?

Why don't they make ceramic blocks? Or have they?

Would it be feasible to coat each cylinder with ceramic?

Low friction, zero heat loss, zero expansion/contraction. Think of the tolerances you could use if you could work with ceramic!
