We know the VAG group share similar parts and components but are the cars really the same or do the little differences really add up to substantially different interpretations of the platform?

Are Skoda and Seat just budget Audi and VW's or do they really fill different market places? Are Skoda's better built than Audis and VW's? Does the actual badge really matter? If you put Audi badges on a Skoda would it make the car appeal to more people?

The materials and levels of finish are quite different between the models. Seat and Skoda still don't quite have the luxury finish of VW or Audi but at least they should all be as reliable as one another as they share the same mechanical components and it keeps the parts cost down as they are all shared by so many different cars.
