Re: New here!

Hi Pedro and a warm welcome to TorqueCars, it sounds like you've spend some serious time and money on your car. It is certainly worthy of your investment.

What other mods have you got planned for it?

Re: New here!

Thanks!

Man, it worth every $ and every secund!!! The car feels very good!

I have a lot of plans for the future!

Engine:

Blouch td06 18G Turbo.
EL headers (exhaust manifold)
Tuned on 100% Ethanol

Suspension:

JDM STI Pink Springs or Prodrive Springs (not sure yet)
Front and Rear sway bars
Better Brakes

Now, if I have the $:

Fully built engine; block and head
GT30R turbo
Tuned on Ethanol
Full STI tranny swap with Brembos...

The list will change till a can do all that! But that is part of the fun! :)

Re: New here!

That sounds like a great plan. Isn't it always down to finding the time and money though!

Re: New here!

Hi Ferraz, welcome. Have you uprated the bushes or have strut braces on the front end - how is the handling with what you've done so far compared to standard. I;ve got Tein's all round with a front strut brace but although i have the uprated bushes (for the front end) havent put them on as the cars already pretty solid.

Re: New here!

Hello Ferraz. Nice wheels. Got any pics for us? PLEASE?

Thanks for the welcoming!

The only bushes I upgraded were the ones from the ALKs... I have the rear strut brace (S204 performance damper) only. I want the STI titanium front one, so I'm still looking for a good deal!;)

Handling is great! It is another car! The Konis decreased bodyroll a lot! Not as much as sway bars would, but still. It is easier to align the car for the corner... (not sure if I'm clear here).
The ALK gives a lot of traction out of corners. You still get understeer if you approache slow corner too fast, but still a lot better than stock! But once you feel the front grip, FLOR IT!

One thing I still get is that "bubble-head" effect at high speeds, you know? I need some springs to help that.

Hello Ferraz. Nice wheels. Got any pics for us? PLEASE?

I have some pics of the car, will try to post later.

Re: New here!

Long time from last post!! :embarrest:

I think it is time for an update!!

Here is the monster:

_MG_2979.jpg

Had some up grades done to it, but nothing big!

White Line Steering rack bushings
Turn in Concepts Fender brace (nice upgrade)
STI Titanium Front strut brace
Had my wheels painted "Mitsu Gray" (LOL)
Tuned on E40 (40% ethanol) to 226whp

But as you can imagine, I WANT MORE!! So now I'm gathering parts for the next step...

Have:
Perrin Inlet pipe (charger pipe)
GrimmSpeed 3 port Boost Control Solenoid
td05 18G 8cm turbo (stuck in customs :()

waiting for:
DW 1000cc injector, so a can tuno for E90

Here is the "old" dyno graph... just for fun:

Re: New here!

I updated the "parts list".

Car is going to get a new turbo, injector and boost solenoid installed tomorrow (I hope). And will be e-tuned for e100 (100% Ethanol).

Regards!

Re: New here!

Car is at a friend's shop having the turbo and injectors intalled!! I'm excited!

Re: New here!

Car is back! I'm just riding slow, to make sure there are no oil or coolant leaks... I'm runing a base tune, something just for the car to move, so no performance to report. Tune starts tomorrow!

Regards

Re: New here!

Keep us posted, More pics please! (I'll copy this to our projects thread because it will just get buried in the newbie forum!)

Why not upload some pics to your album on here? (It's in your profile!):D

UPDATE Time!

e-tune takes a little more time than I expected... Cameron (the tuner) is fast to reply my e-mails, and to ajust maps, but it takes time when the tuner is in another country :p

OK. After 3 maps, idle is perfect! These DW1000cc injectors are impressive! Smooth and solid idle for such big injectors...

The bad news... My wide band O2 sensor died 5 min before we start to tune WOT

Jarrod from scoobytuner.com sent me a new one, but will take a good 5 days to get here.

That is it for now.

PS. Waynne, will try to give the car a good was and take some pics... But it may take some time, as I work 6 days a week and wife gets the 7th :blink1:

PPS. I have this one pic for now:

plus the turbo - Kinugawa td05-18G:

^^ Thanks!

I want a bigger IC, but I don't plan on a FMIC... I want the Process West TMIC + water spray system.

PS. But I do dream about the Process West V-mont IC... It is sweet!

Should provide much morenthan 230 hp with one of those a TD05 should be good for over 300 hp
Have a look at water/meths injection as well, it's a different concept to and intercooler water spray

I hope to "touch" the 300whp mark, now... Don't want to go crazy on power till I have the $$$ for a new tranny.

After the car is tuned on e100, I will go for springs and some reliability mods... Bigger oil pan and radiator are on my list. Also I want to get some gauges: Oil Pressure, fuel pressure or oil temp and EGT.

UPDATE.

O2 sensor is here and installed. WOT pull is will star this knight... Hope to have the car tuned till next week.

Regards

UPDATE

Timing and AFR are almost done! At 11psi (0.7 bar) of boost, car pulls a little better than my dad's Accord V6.

Tonight I will see what this turbo can do at 20psi (1.3 bar).

Regards

Sweet what Bhp do you think it's running now?

+1
Should be a sweet ride.
If you ever need advise Harvey on here is the man to ask as he tunes Scoobies for a living.
I've got myself a TD04L turbo off a WRX to go on my 306 Dtub and he tells me that 1.8 bar is about the most those turbos will cope with on your engine with proper intercooling which should give around 280hp, but since you're running E85 and upwards then you should see 300hp :)

^^ I had the td04 at 18psi and it gave me 226 hp at the wheels but it could not hold the power till redline...

My new td05-18G is different animal! goal is 380bhp or around 300hp at the wheels, running 20psi (1.3 bar) on E50. Not sure if I will have the corage to push it to 24psi on E100... Not sure if my tranny will like it :p

regards

Yeah, the TD04's on those tail off after 5.5k rpms which is fine for me and my car is a turbo diesel so 5.5k rpm is fine but I have a bigger turbo as well if I choose to use it (Maptun/Garrett T28BB) but I'm haveing trouble finding a wastegate actuator of any description that will fit it.

Maybe you could run a lower boost on E100 to get the same power, It should be doable since the E100 has a higher flash point, it should also iron out the torque curve a bit.

Do you have any recent power graphs you could post on here? or even ones with the TD04 equipped?

Cheers
