Winter is coming and I'm sure we're going to be warned to only make essential journeys when the snow and ice arrive.

What do you class as an essential journey?

I know its not really the answer to your question, but I love how we all grind to a hault, making half cooked attempts at 'essential journeys' when it snows... airports come to a grinding hault too. By contract when I went snowboarding a few years back, we landed in a place with tonnes of the white stuff, and proceeded to get taxi's around the area, again through mountain roads covered in snow. I know they're used to dealing with snow in such areas, but you would think we'd do a little better than our current efforts of throwing grit around and sliding about on summer tyres crashing into each other.

the most essential journey for me is to the shop for food and booze, not in that order either lol.
if I need to go out in the snow then I do. I drove in Canada for a few months lol. snow over the height of the car. with out 'specialised winter tyres'. (shaking my head)
