Red line or no??

Its all about keeping in your power band. Power generally droppes off at the redline plus the fact that you are killing your engine. Find out your Torque curve (a rolling road would be perfect) and your best acceleration will be in the peak part of the torque curve so in my car that is from 2500-5500 revs.
