Hey peeps just looking at that do you remember thread made me remember the old time when my old man had a nice stash of old triumphs got me wondering

What Classic Cars would you own??

Mine would be in this order
1: Triumph Stag
2: Ford Capri Mk1
3: Triumph TR8
4: Jensen Interceptor
5: Triumph TR6

Well I have

Mk 1 interceptor - had for 15years
1973 porsche 911T had for over 25 years but needs restoring
early 32GTR currently being restored to 100% factory spec

what I would really like is an early KPG series skyline but the prices are prohibative as in much worse than all the early sporty fords

I will restore the 911 one day ........thats if I ever come into some serious money

Hmm so many cars...

Mini 1275GT
Triumph GT6
VW Type 3 Notchback
VW Type 2 bus
Karmann Ghia
Any aircooled Porsche
Ferrari Dino
Alfa GTV
Ginetta G4

I'd better stop now my virtual garage is full, I'm going to have to build an extension. :amuse:

Lol...They were all modern cars when I started driving.

Tough one.

Bentley 4 1/2 litre is my favourite.
AC Cobra.
Mk1 Lotus Cortina.
Mk2 Savage Cortina.
Vauxhall Viva GT.

As others have said, some were around when I passed my test!

For me it would be a Stag or a 73 Porsche 911 in Gulf Colours!

Could I also add a Ferrari Dino that list, I think this is one of the best looking cars ever made.

Shelby cobra 427.... :D
ford anglebox
Ford escort mk2 mexico
classic land rover (88" pick up)

and something a little more modern to use as a daily... late 90's volvo T5r

Mk1 Escort RS2000 (Cossie'd ssshhhh :D)
3dr Cossie
Delta Integrale Evo 2
911 Carrera RS
964 Turbo

That's all from the top of my head for the moment!

Loads and laods

Now that we have modern vehicles with their superb collision protection I find it increasingly hard to relax in the classics. Which is a shame because there's a few I really quite like.

I would have to have a Shelby Cobra 427 Ci  A real one would be really silly money but I would be very happy with a good replica :)

Thanks for that Loz, but I am determined to buy a huge engined British monster this year when I move :) Should the Lotto come up in the meantime then you can expect a PM and some commission from me ;)

I was thinking along the lines of a little more sophistication TN! I have my short list of cars drawn up, but I have to see how much I will end up spending on my new home first as to how new the car will be ;)

The mighty TVR did not even make it onto my short list :embarrest:
I shall broaden my search to include the TVR just for you TN - just in case I'm missing something :)

@Sleeper How does the Interceptor Drive? Always wanted to test drive one lol!

ITS CERTAINLY DIFFERENT

its like an armchair to sit in but like a racing tractor that goes round corners to drive.
In reality all you really notice is the V8 . mine has the high compression 6.9 - the one without the emmission baggage so more power than normal models
The torque is astonishing . You dont realise how quick it is untill you try to stop or reach a bend.
Handling was great for a late 60s car weighing 1.3/4 ton but in comparison with later cars its best driven in straight lines.

the TVR Griffith was a Great Piece of Machinery!

@Sleeper You are So Lucky!

Have you tried to enhance the handling maybe lower the ride height???

Has to be Aston Martin T9, not built in a shed, won't fall apart in your hands, not far off the pace but all the quality, luxury and creature comforts....
