What is the worst car related decision you've made?

Did you choose a part that just ruined the cars performance or handling.

Perhaps you just bought the wrong car altogether and regretted the purchase as soon as you'd got it home? Maybe you decided to overtake and misjudged it?

So what bad decisions have you made that are related to your car?

My first car back in 1980 Ford Cortina mk3,,, I fitted exhaust sidepipe to it,,
Burnt my ankle getting in,,,,, the worst thing i ever bought for a car,,,,

my first legal car, a renault megane 1.9 non turbo diesel, cost £250, and was well RUBBISH, i could even say it was cheap motoring

Putting fake fur roof lining in my Capri back in my old custom car days!
I thought it was so cool

but feedback at the time suggested otherwise! :embarrest:

'86 Ford Escort Hatch.

Bought is cheap.
Was overheating!

Changed the coolant, radiator, valve springs, wire loom, and what was supposed to be the ecu in those days twice, the plugs.

I could still fry an egg on the bonnet after 5 minutes of idling in the middle of winter.

Got 50 quid for it.

Thanked my stars.

I have just changed some interiors on my car. and now it is looking good even more than before.

Putting my right foot too far down sending me sliding into a van. Costs more than you think losing your no claims bonus and having an accident on your record. All the damage was to the van though, just a few scratches and a broken bracket on my bumper.

Maybe a bit too far down for the conditions but you must have persevered  - A 1.6 Astra isn't the torquiest of cars so I suspect the odds were against you for it to cause a loss of stability that was bad enough to cause a RTC.

At least no injury was caused. Plastic and paint is expensive.

I have a whole 110lbft of torque. Mind boggling.

I was on a car park while it was raining and then i went up a ramp, did a flip, landed on two side wheels and held it there while weaving between lambos and ferrari and managed to point it to point it at a van so i didn't hit a pregnant lady pushing twins in a pram.

Blimey, are you a stunt driver by any chance? :)
