Do you think it is possible to buy a car that does not depreciate?

Are classic cars still a good bet, and what about auction bargains?

The Ferrari F40 launched in the 1980s exhibited negative depreciation! -

Order a new one in 1987

Wait 'til 1988 for delivery.

Now flog it for twice the amount !

The downside for me would have been finding the £80,000 to buy it in the first instance.

BMW Z3 M Coupes hold their prices well, in fact I suspect their starting to appreciate.

The Smart Forfours keep their money very well too. The same could be said for the Roadster too, you could own one for a year & probably sell it for what you paid for it.

Volvo Cross Country's & Audi Allroads seem to deappreciate very slowly as well.

I thought Alfa Romeo's Depreciate more than any other car manufacturer

Eurgh only just noticed i've posted the opposite of what the OP is asking lol!

If you include classic cars then the best return£ for £ will be a totally standard as in unmodified 70s,80s or early 90s proper sports coupes
Things like a 911 , 32 GTR , original quattro or escort mexico etc will go up in value for sure

providing they are excellent to mint and unmodded

Maybe Lancia Delta turbo integrale? I think it might get along what Sleeper posted.
About new cars I can tell only for my country - less depreciation have German cars with diesel engines then anything else in the market. Most value are loosing big cars with big engines, especially if they are not German.
But once the price settle you can buy them, drive it for a year or two and sell for simillar price.
