Tube Less tyre

How exactly does a tube-less tyre retain air pressure.

It is sealed to the rim with an adhesive. When fitting a tubless tyre you need to make sure the rim is not dented or scratched as this would leak air. The Air pressure also forces the tyre collar into the rim more firmly.

I don't think it's adhesive? I thought it was a sort of soap that was used to help the tyre of the wheel. I thoughtthe tyre was sealed with the beading in the tyre wall itself and the air pressure.

I did some work in a garage for a while fitting tyre's and doin services etc but I couldn't quite remember if I was right or not. Was along time ago.
