Which engine types and transmissions are you so prejudiced against that you would never even consider them?

Fuel types
Diesel
Electric
Hybrid
Petrol

Engines
Rotary
V8
V6
Small (sub 1.4 litre)

Transmission
Manual
Auto
Semi Auto
Paddle shift semi auto
CVT

I am pretty open minded but I will still find it hard to consider a Electric or Hybrid and a classic automatic engine. I also avoid big V engines and rotary engines like the plague but mainly due to high running costs.

I will even consider small engines (if they have a turbo or supercharger - or both) and would be prepared to use a paddle shift semi automatic if it was genuinely fast.

What about you? What do you avoid at all costs and what are you willing to consider?

I'd consider anything tbh.

I love V8s but you don't see them in anything except hypercars these days.

So given that I can't have that, do I really care what is under the bonnet as long as it gives me the grunt and range that I need?

I like the idea of the electric car as far as being kind to the environment (I'm not a hippy I promise), but there is a long way to go before they are deemed as acceptable in terms of performance and fair pricing. So until technology in that area takes a leap, I will continue to spread my dirty fumes and pay tax to people who pretend they care.
