hi every one,im going to get a TDI tuning box for my saab 93 does any one no if there any good,or should you go for a re map.

The cheap Ebay resistor boxes are awful and potentially damaging to your engine. A proper tuning box which has been programmed and that allows the user to alter the settings a little are good value but you can't really beat a custom remap.

The nice thing about tuning boxes is that they just plug in and out so you can get your car serviced with impunity at the main dealers where they might raise an eyebrow if you'd remapped it.

Even the best tuning boxes are not going to touch a proper remap for sheer driveability and smooth torque delivery.

Some cars, notably Toyota (and include Lexus in this) are generally regarded as impossible to crack and therefore the tuning box is your only option.

Saab's diesels are Fiat/Alfa derived units and remap superbly. Don't box it mate.

Think you already know the answer but just to echo the previous posts - REMAP IT - you won't be sorry for the little extra outlay it may cost.

Yeah get a remap - they're plentiful and cheap for the GM diesels
