Need to get some new tyres on the missus focus, they're not expensive high-perfomance, 195/15s, and it only does about 3000 miles a year so I'm not bothered about quick wear.

Anyone got any recommendations for the grippiest tyre under 70 or 80 quid a corner?

I was going to say get a set of Michelin Primacy HP but they only go down to 16 inch.
At around 75 quid a corner they aren't a bad price and they hang on really really well.
They came with my Focus from the Factory and they were absolutely superb.
Not really sure of any others tbh for that size of rim.
Sorry I can't help buddy.

I'll tell you what they are the best tyre's that i've had on the Focus.
I've had Conti, Dunlop, Bridgestone and another which i've forgot.
The Michelin's where by far the best.

Yeah but you are just naming the brands and not the tyres. There's huge differences between some of the tyres in a range manufacturers make. Contisport Contact 3's on the Fiesta atm, 195/45/16 and they are very good. About £70 a corner IIRC. I was pleasantly surprised by how they react to wet weather driving for a summer tyre. Nice step up from the normal Contisport Contacts.
