They are seldom used but when they are then it will need to have the correct pressure in it.
I recommend that it be over pressurized by say 15 psi as they will loose pressure over time.
I have never seen anyone checking the spare at the service stations as they are usually tucked away and not easily accessible so it will hopefully still be ok if and when it is needed and if the pressure is still over the correct pressure it can be bled off and checked with the gauge I know you all carry.
