random noise

hello.

i have a 1.3 ka W reg. it has started to make a quite grinding noise. this only happens when its in neutral with the clutch out. when you put the clutch in it stops.
also when the engine gets to temp. an i come to change gear the engine revs its self after a couple of seconds it stops.

any help would be grateful

Sounds like two separate problems. When you say clutch out I assume you mean foot off. This looks suspiciously like a bit of gearbox input shaft noise and shouldn't be a problem but get the 'box oil level checked.

The second one: sticky pedal or thottle pivot? Any warning lights showing? Or is it just the throttle damper doing its job?

The first one sounds like a bearing of somesort in the gearbox is about to let go.
As for the throttle is it a wire arrangment or electronic?

The wire might just want some Lube down the line. May just be sticking somewhere.
