Performance cars for under 2 grand?

Right what with used car prices falling and such what is out there for 2 grand.
Something sporty. Have you seen any bargains out there?
I saw a few Prelude 2.2 vtecs for under 2 grand. I've seen a couple of Scoobs as well. Vectra gsi's and sri's.
What bargains have you seen around?

Not sure I'd really call a Vectra SRi a performance car.

There's a MB 500 SEC a few miles away at £1995. It looks OK from the outside but I have no idea what state it's in mechanically.

They can be made very quick quite easily. I had a go in one a few years ago and it was rapid.

I've driven a couple and neither blew my socks off to be honest. They're only 170bhp or so, not massively powered.

You can do better than a Vauxhall for £2k.

Buddy they are just examples. And I was asking for others to join in as well to see what is on offer for under 2k.

Saab 9-5 3.0T for £1995 looks good on a 99/V but it's had a million owners so probably been neglected

I've also seen a few 306 Gti-6's drop below 2 grand. Also a couple of Turbo'd 200sx's as well.

How about a 500 SEC on a 1986/C plate.

Seen a few MG ZS180's under £1k, one even priced at under £700! They're out there, it's just being in the right place at the right time!
