Dubman thanks for your advice sounds really good, i dont't think my golf is repairable as it is a write off.Any suggestions for giving my polo a bit more grunt.I've been thinking about donating the engine out of the golf to the polo ,engine code for golf is pb digifant and polo is aau is this possible and if so how difficult to do many thanks

VRSEXY, Get 3 estimates for repair two from main dealer or crash repair specialists and one from a back street one man band using second hand parts. (send first 2 to insurers. If they are write offs you will be offered a cash + car back settlement so the 3rd estimate is to help you decide to repair the car or scrap it.) A stiff letter to his insurers stating "your client failed to keep a proper lookout, performed a manouver in contravention of the highway code, failed to give any indication of his intention and failed to maintain proper control of his vehicle."
Also state, "I kept a proper lookout, was correctly proceeding along the road at xxx mph. I had no room to manouver, brake or swerve to avoid the collision as your client moved suddenly and without warning within my breaking distance"
(Just put the items in this list that are true. and write "WITHOUT PREDJUDICE AT THE TOP")
If you dont know who his insurers are send the letter to him by recorded delivery and report the incident to the police under failure to give insurance particulars in contravention of the road traffic act.
His insurers have about 14 days to respond to your letter and will inspect your vehicle. Take photographs of the damage, the road and any road signs that add weight to your arguement. Dont forget to include your insurers details, address and telephone number.
That should get things moving for you.

HI DUBMAN.Thanks for replying,in answer to your questions the twat pulled an illegal u turn in front of me i didnt have any where to go except into his side. Consequently my baby hasnt got much of a front end left and i am now stuck with aone litre polo which does 0 to 60 in three hours, any suggestions i need help!

HI VRSEXY - I'll talk to you. We need more 1980 onwards VW owners in the club. What did you do to upset the BEE EM Driver? How bad is the damage. It's pretty gutting when someone hits your pride and joy.
