Has anyone ever come across or know of a why to find out the rough cost of an insurance premium in relation to an insurance group? I know that usually with insurance there are a lot of variables involved, but just wondered if there is a general guideline anywhere.

Cheers

Its a tough one, a bit like asking what the weather is like depending on the temperature. You can get a quote for a group 12 and then one for a group 15 and use this to determine what the prices are for the 13 and 14 roughly but the biggest problem is that each insurer group or classify cars differently.

(Sorry for the delay been having some web issues to sort with the server! :()

No probs...yeah I thought there wouldn't be an easy answer to this one. Probably best to ignore groups and just base everything on quotes for different cars.

They are good as an indication - you know what you can roughly afford and see which cars fit into similar groups. All insures use age of car discounts so getting an older lower mileage car can be a real bonus.
