How to make focus 1.6 TDCI quicker

Hi can any1 give me any ideas as to how i can make my focus 1.6 TDCI on an 05 plate any quicker. I'v modified and tuned cars before but never a diesel and don't really know where to start. Also have heard about the DPF filter has this got it, anything I can do to it and do I need to do anything to it service wise? Thanks pete

Hi there and welcome to TorqueCars nice to hav eyou along. I'll admit I don't know much about the 1.6 TDCi but I'm sure that remapping is your best option. I'd also recommend a panel air filter as well rather than an induction kit.

chances are it will have the particle filter as i think they became standard in 04.
remapping is your best option without going mental with new turbo etc

exactly as others said, new air filter, then remap.

if you want to do more you can de-cat it, and remove the DPF, then remap it again.

If u want to go mental, bigger turbo, bigger intercooler. Then remap again to get the most out of it!
