Looking for suggestions on how we can improve the site. We'd like to hear your experiences, opinions and ideas on developments for

1) This forum.
2) Our main site and the articles.

So don't be shy, post up in here. Plus and Negative points are welcome.

If you want to you can leave anonymous feedback on each article so if you spot an error, have a comment or suggestion to make it will come through to us. (Leave a fake email address if you want on your feedback and it will be untracable to you!)
 
my first suggestion would be get rid of the start new thread button!
it annoys the hell out of me and its already lost 1 regular poster;)
 
Start New Thread button is fine, have to think of the newbies here!

Maybe an easier way to upload photos and a more straightforward way to reduce your large memory photos for an easier upload?

An approved advertisers list via positive customer feedback would be good as well to help those who would like to buy goods/services but who are unsure of who to trust.

A forum members regional/national/international listing of preferred recommended garages and specialist services for certain car manufacturers with a reviews list by other forum members based on their experiences to date, and graded possibly with a 1 to 5 star rating for ease of guidance for others. ;)
 
1) Maybe a separate album section linked to something which will open in a slide show.
2) Separate control panel for the visitors only, who does not want to join us.
3) Spreading the word. I've already created a button of Torquecars on my site.
4) Spreading Torquecars in different places. Like Calcutta. Organising rallies.
 
Waynne - I think it would be beneficial to flatten the forum directory structure a little.

It's multi-layered, which, whilst being good practice, is possibly slightly confusingly for new members. This is quite common when file systems, directory structures etc grow. What initially made sense with a nested or layered structure eventually becomes a nightmare to navigate.

How is the general speed of the site? Does it ever become unusably slow and if so how often and at what times?
 
how about a car of the month?? with a little trophy in your profile (if this is possible?)
iirc its on the corsa c forum they do this and it works well! members do more to there cars and update there project threads more ask more questions if they are trying something new
 
That is another great idea Herb! We could also do a member of the month (based on posts, reputation gained and most new threads with lots of replies or something!)

:D Cool! It was hard work and took some hacks to the core code but I think we have cracked it now.:D I'll still try to improve it further though.
 
Yes it is. Green is for + reputation and Red is negative reputation. Thankfully we are mostly green on here.

You get reputation from people who click the scales icon and add to your reputation. It is a way of thanking someone for a helpful or interesting post, starting an interesting new topic or for answering a question.

The more reputation someone has the more they will give you when they click the add reputation button.

I've just added some reputation for you so you can see how it goes, unfortunately as admin I don't give a lot of reputation with each click so you are still on one bar but I'm sure you'll get some more soon and will quickly be on the way:(
 
There will definately be some QUALITY CONTROL here. ;)

I think the whole site needs an update

The home page feels a bit clustered, personally i think there is to much information on the page in terms of tuning articles and adverts so it should be condensed a little bit. Have a smaller selection of articles that randomly change everyday. I know adverts are important but do we need to have one at the top where it says TorqueCars?

Change the graphics of the site, change the icons make them a bit bigger and flashier etc (the icons at the top such as home news etc do feel a bit small)
 
I think it is not that much complicated. The site is faster than other forums, user friendly, soothing for the eyes (because of background & text color). I've been on other forums before I joined Torquecars, but Torquecars is best !
 
Thought I'd bump this thread, how can we improve? Also I'd like to thank everyone for their support, you all make this forum a great place to be and hang out. |B

What would you like to see on here or the main site? How are we doing? Is the forum still friendly and helpful enough? Could we do with more humour/ironic discussions?
