Does your MPG improve by much in the summer months with higher temperatures?

Or do you find that using airconditioning more saps the extra MPG gained?

Higher temps allows for better MPG?!?

For me the higher temp is a bane to my cold air intake and turbo. Consequently I'm holding my foot down longer and using more fuel.

Yes, warm intake air carries less oxygen so less fuel can be burned. Performance is generally at it greatest in winter on dry roads due to this. Not sure what the degree drop to bhp gain ratio is.

That makes sense as the opposite is true for colder air - more O2 more fuel burn more umpth :)

Seems like splitting hairs so the thinner air = less drag which also means less dense air = less power so things remain the same

 We're such a bunch of Pendant's aren't we.

In the summer though you have more flies and bees which impact on the front of the car absorbing some of the forward momentum. I bet no one thought of that then?

Tarmac is also softer and more sticky so wheels have greater rolling resistance in the summer!
