Are parking bays getting smaller

What is it with small parking bays, you can hardly get out of your car.

Are cars getting bigger or are bays smaller than ever before.

I've taken to carrying a doll and pram around with me so I can use the family bays at the supermarkets!

When I designed parking areas we worked on 2.4m x 4.8m (8' x 16' in old money). This standard was agreed many years ago when the vast majority of cars were a lot smaller than they are today. However, with today's trend to buy small, effecient cars, the bay size will probably not change.

However, I am surpised, Waynne, that you haven't seen this, as it was in your favourite paper

Easy getting into a tight space but when it comes to exiting said vehicle...............

Maybe that's why hatches were invented

One reason I try to avoid the wifes MGF when parking in such places, near on impossible to get out of it in a tight space due to the size of the door and curvature of the glass, no amount of limbo works for me!
