Gotta love the RB26.
Club member in Weymouth has a 1300ish bhp R32 that is a road legal drag car. Trying to search my ageing brain for the name of the car at the mo. I'll post up the build vid when I remember it

thanks - an interesting read but as andy said over 1000 is quite easy to acheive with a big enough turbo.
Also 1000 will give too much lag for me and besides generally 700 is about the limit of a standard gearbox so going above that is quite a big jump in ££££s

When I think about these engines I sometimes wish that I was into Jap cars

However, 300bhp/litre isn't actually that difficult to achieve. I know that my experience is pretty limited and restricted to two engine types, but my YB Cosworth will be producing over 300bhp/litre when fed Q16 (the successor to C16) and it isn't that highly tuned.

600-700hp is a nice sweet spot on the road for all the components After that it's just going to be just too dangerous and pointless
