How much does it usually cost to service your car?

Do you use the main dealer or an independent or go the DIY route?

I'm generally spending about £300 at the main dealers, £200 at an independent including aircon regas and £120 if I do it myself.

I do mine locally (not at home, not quite that local!!) but instead at a local independent garage. It's walking distance away so I can drop it in for an MoT and oil service and walk back. They do have courtesy cars available but I try to arrange my calendar so that I don't need one.

Mine varies between £350 and £650 depending on the size of the service mileage. The fluids are all replaced including the auto-transmission whether it needs it or not.
