Hi,
My car is an N reg drab green 5-door Proton Persona 1.6LXi that I've spent a lot of time turning into a car that's actually worth driving.....
The engine has been swapped out for a 12K miles 1.8 4G93 unit, fitted with a breathed head that I laboured over through the course of an entire winter (after first making a DIY flow bench using to non-EU compliant hoovers). The head is fitted with 304 degree cams and fed by a set of zx9r 40mm CVR carbs. The exhaust gases flow out through a 4-1 extractor into a stainless 2 1/4 inch exhaust. Sparks management is through a Megajolt and EDIS setup.
The suspension is home made coilovers all around and braking is a mixture of EVOIII and the original system. Every panel that could be skinned has been and all the glass has been replaced by polycarb (except windscreen).
Over the years its been nitrous assisted, fuel injected and run on ethanol, but is now back on petrol.
Any car can be fast and good fun. Its just that some need more work than others.
