I drive a 2006 mk2 Focus Sport 1.8 TDCI
I recently replaced gearbox oil in the hope to be rid of the clunking noise during gear change, however the noise remains.
Car goes into each gear perfectly, no hesitation at all. I just get this annoying clunk, it's not the clutch release bearing because it only makes this noise in the lower gears.
Somebody said using an additive such as gearbox slick 50 will erase the noise. is this correct ?
EDIT: I'd rather not replace transmission because
A. I have spent thousands already in the last 4 years on repairs
B. Car is going into each gear perfectly
